Quarry Conveyor Applications

Quarry conveyor systems are mainly used to handle crushed stone, aggregates, and limestone, typically after multiple crushing and screening stages.

Typical on-site situations include:

Key Components in Quarry

Conveyor Idlers

Support the belt when conveying crushed stone and aggregates, where sharp-edged material continuously scrapes the belt surface and increases rolling resistance over time; in multi-stage systems, uneven loading from crushers can also affect rotation stability.

Conveyor Pulleys

Drive the belt when transporting aggregates between crushers, screens, and stockpiles, where frequent start-stop cycles and varying load levels create tension fluctuation across the system; unstable pulleys can affect material flow consistency between stages.

Pulley Lagging

Maintains traction when handling fine particles and slightly moist aggregates, where crushed material and dust can accumulate on pulley surfaces and reduce friction; without lagging, this may lead to belt slippage under fluctuating load conditions.

Impact Bed

Absorbs impact where crushed stone drops from crushers or screens onto the belt, especially at intermediate transfer points where material flow is uneven; repeated loading can create localized belt stress despite smaller particle size compared to mining.

Skirting Board

Controls material flow where mixed aggregates and fines spread outward after discharge, especially when material exits crushers or screens with uneven distribution; without skirting, this can lead to continuous side spillage and accumulation along the structure.

Belt Cleaners

Remove residual material when handling fine aggregates and dust, which tend to adhere to the belt surface during continuous operation; if not cleaned, carryback leads to material buildup under return idlers and along the conveyor frame.
